Your Right to Opt-Out

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other state privacy laws, you have the right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.

At StreetEat, we respect your privacy rights and make it easy to control how your data is used.

What Does "Sale" Mean?

Under privacy laws like CCPA, "sale" has a broad meaning. It includes:

• Sharing your personal information with third parties in exchange for money
• Sharing your personal information with third parties in exchange for other valuable benefits
• Allowing third parties to collect your information for their own purposes

This is different from the everyday meaning of "selling." Even if we don't receive direct payment, certain data sharing activities may be considered a "sale" under the law.

What Information We May Share

StreetEat may share the following categories of personal information with third parties for business purposes:

• Identifiers: Email address, device ID
• Usage Data: How you interact with our app, features you use
• Location Data: General location (city/state), not precise GPS coordinates
• Preferences: Food preferences, favorite vendors, saved searches

Who We Share With

• Analytics Providers: Google Analytics - to understand app usage and improve our service
• Marketing Partners: Email marketing platforms - to send promotional content (only if you opted in)
• Advertising Networks: To show you relevant ads (only if you opted in to marketing cookies)

How to Opt-Out

Method 1: In-App Settings (Recommended)

1. Open the StreetEat mobile app
2. Tap the menu icon and select Settings
3. Select Privacy Settings
4. Find the Do Not Sell My Personal Information toggle
5. Turn it ON (toggle to the right)
6. Your preference is saved automatically

Method 2: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@streeteat.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell My Personal Information." Include:

• Your name
• Email address associated with your StreetEat account
• Statement: "I am opting out of the sale of my personal information"

We will process your request within 15 business days and send you a confirmation email.

Method 3: Online Form

Submit a privacy request through our Privacy Request Form.

What Happens When You Opt-Out?

When you opt-out of the sale of your personal information:

• We stop sharing: Your personal information with third-party analytics and advertising partners
• Marketing cookies disabled: Third-party tracking cookies are blocked
• No targeted ads: You won't see personalized advertisements based on your StreetEat activity
• Limited analytics: We'll only use first-party analytics to improve the app

What Still Works

Opting out does NOT affect:

• Core app features: Finding vendors, viewing menus, making reservations
• Account management: Your profile, settings, and preferences
• Necessary data sharing: With payment processors (Stripe), hosting providers (Firebase), and other service providers essential to operating StreetEat
• Legal obligations: Sharing required by law or to protect our rights

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

StreetEat recognizes and respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If you enable GPC in your browser, we will automatically treat it as a valid request to opt-out of the sale of your personal information.

To enable GPC:

• Use a browser that supports GPC (e.g., Firefox, Brave, DuckDuckGo)
• Enable the GPC setting in your browser preferences
• Visit the StreetEat website or web app

Authorized Agent Requests

You can authorize someone to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. The authorized agent must:

• Provide written proof of authorization (e.g., power of attorney)
• Verify their own identity
• Confirm they have permission to act on your behalf

No Discrimination

We will NOT discriminate against you for exercising your right to opt-out. We will not:

• Deny you access to our app or services
• Charge you different prices
• Provide you with a different level or quality of service
• Suggest that you will receive different pricing or service quality

You have the same rights and access to StreetEat whether you opt-out or not.

Other Privacy Rights

In addition to the right to opt-out, you may have other privacy rights including:

• Right to Know: Request a copy of your personal information (Submit Request)
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your account and data (Privacy Settings)
• Right to Correct: Update inaccurate personal information (Edit Profile)
• Right to Limit: Restrict the use of sensitive personal information
